Throughout his career Edison believed that the telephone would transcend the limitations of time and physical space as understood in his era. He theorized that our essential being consisted of tiny entity particles much like atoms. Just as sound lingered after its source, these entities might linger in the air and be made audible.

 

In the spirit of this unrealized dream, Spectral Transmissions has created a public ghost phone line. Callers are invited to contribute their own ghost stories, personal experiences, memories of lost ones, and thoughts on what haunts us as society and as human beings.

 

These contributions will be integrated into the soundscapes, installations, and musical scores of Spectral Transmissions live shows and broadcasts.
